county executive jim smith. good afternoon. what can you tell us about baltimore county? >> good afternoon to you. we're fairing fairly well. it helps when people use common sense. going around the barriers is -- it's hard to understand because we've had such great cooperation between so many of the agencies and the police and the public works, two of the agencies have been working hand and glove and a road that is partially closed until public works get there. they put up the barrier and the police go on to assist other areas. we need the cooperation of the public but all the agencies are working very, very well together. with respect to the two shelters, they're really open for people who feel threatened, particular thy those who are -- could be impacted by the tidal surge. that's supposed to owe consider around 12:48 p.m. if they are afrayed for their pets we have coordinated with animal control. they can bring their pets. if they're bringing their pets with them, we're prepared to even take care of the pets. we have done 6500 row versus 911 calls. there are robocalls, mostly

. it came from a porcelain company that etches. they use the acid to etch into stone and it leaked out and their top priority was to get the people evacuated. they'll continue to work on the scene. >> reporter: around 10:00 this morning, the crews respond to the 2900 block of witting ton avenue in baltimore for an acid spill. while teams survey the area over an hour into the work, they realize it's worse than they thought. we've found a 55-gallon drum of this acid, it's a highly toxic acid and it's now empty. we found trails of it throughout the building and in some of the spaces as well and it's seeped into some of the carpet areas. >> what's your biggest concern right now with the acid? >> well, the biggest concern we'll take is newt losing thes a -- neutralizing -- this acid. >> reporter: and the authorities say it's so dangerous, it can cause respiratory arrest and burns off limbs. we'll update you with the latest. weijia jiang, eyewitness news. >> thank you, and among the businesses evacuated, a small recording studio and a warehouse. we'll have more on this tonight. >>> police ch

, as that storm passes by as a major storm. now, the time frame for us is going to be more so thursday night into friday. then it's really going to kick ought of here to the east, eventually. but the latest we have to update you on is take a look at this pink area. hurricane watch goes into effect as the storm is approaching us in the next day or so. for more on this, here is tim. >> what we have been doing, of course, bernadette, showed you the latest track. we have been talking about the consistency also of the model. this is what we called the spaghetti plot. it is basically many different models, compiled to show you the different consistencies of the path, where it is expected to move. the other models all have this, moving right on up the east coast, as bernadette mentioned, and moving out to sea. but the consistency here and the collaborative thinking, between all of the models is that it definitely will be moving through. and again, that time frame will be friday into saturday. the beaches all along the east coast, from the outer banks right on up into new england. we need to really
